Here is the latest design from Bill Hempel; the 50% J-3 Clipped Wing Cub! Are you ready to show up to the field with something totally different? The J-3 Cub has been a favorite of almost everyone who shares the dream of flying. The 50% J-3 Cub will turn heads where ever you fly! This monster ARF is the biggest in the world and has been designed for easy transportation and assembly. A 150cc to 200cc engine is all you need to have the most fun flying anywhere!

The 50% Clipped Wing Cub has been engineered using the latest CAD technology to insure all the parts fit perfectly. There is no building required for this airplane but having all the parts fit perfectly will insure a straight and strong airframe. All parts used during construction were laser cut to improve accuracy and to reduce weight. The entire airframe is made from balsawood and plywood. The fully functional landing gear is made from aluminum tubes and has been factory welded and ready to mount. Simple bungee cords provide the best shock absorbing possible for those perfect landings. The 8.5” Wheels come included in the kit for the perfect scale Cub look.

Why Clipped Wing? Aerobatics of course! The 50% Clipped Wing Cub performs the easiest aerobatics you can imagine. Loops can be performed from level flight with just a few clicks of power. With a 150cc engine, this airplane can perform ANY aerobatic maneuver the real Cub is capable of. Rolls, spins, hammerhead turns, inverted flight, snap rolls are easily done. With a 170-200cc motor this plane will have 1:1 power or better and is capable of many 3D maneuvers to include harrier’s, harrier rollers, waterfalls, high alpha’s, wing tip spins, torque rolls and many more. Many may doubt the performance of this size plane with a 150cc to 200cc motor.

With this final flying weight of 60-63 pounds and the large wing area, this airplane has great power. The performance will impress everyone including you!

The 50% Clipped Wing Cub is finished using Ultracote covering for that perfect look and ease of cleaning. The aileron utilizes “pocket” type hinging and comes pre-installed and ready for flight. The stab is removable in minutes for ease of transportation. 2-Carbon wing tubs are included and the aluminum wing struts have quick disconnect pins to make assembly much faster and easier. The kit comes standard with he following items:

Firewall pre marked for standard 150cc motor with aluminum stand-offs included
